Christmas Holidays and Vacations..If You Board Your Dog or Take Him Along..You Need to Read This....This time of the year and into January is when I see the most cases of kennel cough (or receive 'Help' emails from my Kennel Cough site ) for the year. People are traveling and visiting, so often have to board their pets. Not only are a larger number of animals crowded together, but their grief in missing their families makes them far more susceptible to contracting infections from each other. That's why you hear of people or animals becoming very ill when a spouse or owner passes away. Grief has an incredibly negative effect on the immune system. The thing with kennel cough is that even if when you pick your pet up from the kennel and he seems fine, the virus/bacteria causing the cough can take from 8 - 10 days to show symptoms that the owner will recognize.
